Evil Dead: the Musical 

(June 20)

Trustus Theatre is bringing Evil Dead: The Musical to the Thigpen Main Stage this summer, and it’s going to get bloody. This campy adaptation of the cult classic b-horror movie series will have audiences laughing and dodging blood as the grisly events from the films come to life on stage complete with musical numbers. Patrons wishing to become more involved in the action may purchase “Splatter Zone” seats where they will be splashed with blood from the stage. Evil Dead: The Musical opens Friday June 20th at 8:00pm and runs through July 26th, 2014. Visit Website

2014 Lake Murray Poker Run

(June 20)

The 2014 Lake Murray Poker Run will begin on Friday June 20th with a pre-run raft up at Sandy Beach. This is always a great time meet new people, catch up with friends, and checkout the hardware that has come to Lake Murray. From the raft up we’ll head to the new “Liberty on the Lake” Restaurant located at Marina Bay for registration. Registration starts at 5:30 and closes at 7:PM. Registration will be followed by the Captains Meeting. The evening will continue at Liberty with great food, live music. Visit Website

Dinosaurs: A Bite Out of Time 

(June 21)

Journey back in time when monsters walked the earth, swam in the seas and soared through the skies in Dinosaurs: A Bite Out of Time at the South Carolina State Museum. After being extinct for more than 65 million years, these life-like dinosaurs are here and are hungry.  The blockbuster exhibit features robotic dinosaurs and strange creatures from prehistoric times, including the ferocious Tyrannosaurus rex, the massive Stegosaurus, the long-necked Elasmosaurus and the flying Pteranodon. A variety of hands-on activities will make the past come alive, including a controllable duck bill dinosaur, a fossil rub station, a dinosaur dig box and two dinosaur puppet show booths. Visit Website

All-star athletes are back in a big way as the Midland’s largest fitness event, Sorinex Summer Strong 7, returns this June. Patrons are invited to Athlete’s Arena at Plex Sports Irmo from June 20-22 for three days of interactive demonstrations, where attendees can learn from the best, up close and personal. Nationally recognized professional and Olympic athletes, coaches and industry insiders will share their expertise all weekend. The annual event draws hundreds of people to watch competitors perform feats of strength and learn from top athletes and athletic trainers in the fitness industry. Visit Website
