The USC Dance Conservatory presents “Peter and the Wolf” on Friday, May 23 6:00p at the Drayton Hall Theatre Columbia, SC. Students from the USC Dance Conservatory, our after-school program for students ages 3-18, present the perennial favorite, “Peter and the Wolf.” The thrilling, timeless story of a boy who matches wits with a fearsome wolf features choreography by faculty of the conservatory and performances by our exceptional students that will delight and inspire! Visit Website

The South Carolina State Museum will open a new temporary exhibit, The American Revolutionary War in South Carolina, this Saturday, May 24.The exhibit will examine the major role that South Carolina played in the Revolutionary War, where over 200 engagements (battles and skirmishes) took place, more than any other colony during the war. The exhibit will also highlight major battles that took place in South Carolina, including the Battle of Sullivan’s Island, the Cherokee Attack and the Battle of Cowpens, as well as the role that African Americans and women played in the war. Visit Website

Jake’s Bar and Grill

What may sound like just another rock and roll show promises to be anything but as the inaugural Keep on Rocking Festival makes its debut at Jake’s Bar and Grill on Devine Street on Saturday May 24, 2014. Local and regional bands will be rocking and rolling from 2:00p.m. until 11:00p.m. while artists live paint and create during the show. Entry Fee: 5K prior to race day $25.00. 5K race day $30.00.
